I’m excited to share my latest projects at LE Grande Kiara in Mont’Kiara, where I had the opportunity to create a stylish, functional kitchen that perfectly meets the client’s needs. This project presented a unique challenge, as I was tasked with completing the kitchen before the client’s family returned from a trip to India. Although we encountered a few supplier-related hiccups, with an extra week of careful coordination, we delivered the kitchen right on schedule.
The kitchen design is centered around a sophisticated black-and-white color scheme, blending contemporary style with practical function. The tall and base units feature sleek white 4G glass doors, while the wall units add a layer of contrast and functionality. The accessible section of the wall units uses black 4G glass doors, while the upper section, finished with glossy white eco-plus panels, aligns with the white 4G glass below, creating a cohesive and modern look.
To enhance efficiency and ensure easy access to everything, I integrated several features tailored for convenient daily use. For example, a 200mm spice rack is strategically placed near the cooking area, making spices and seasonings readily accessible during meal prep. A 400mm multi-function pull-out basket nearby provides easy access to oils, utensils, and other essentials, keeping the workspace organized without crowding the main cooking area.
To support the dishwashing area, I added a 900mm pull-out dish basket and nine smooth-operating drawers—one equipped with a built-in cutlery organizer. These drawers are designed with heavy-duty undermount runners, ensuring durability and easy access to kitchen items.
The wall units are organized to maximize workflow, divided into sections for the sink and cooking areas. An elevator basket on the cooking side offers convenient storage for heavier items, positioned within reach yet set back from the hood for easy access.
For a well-lit and welcoming workspace, LED strip lighting was added under the wall units, illuminating the kitchen. Above the sink, a dish rack keeps drying dishes off the countertop, while an 8mm glass shelf near the cooking side offers a dedicated space for glassware and fine plates.
The worktop and backsplash are crafted from durable porcelain, adding a sophisticated touch to the design, while a 4-by-5-foot island with a bold black quartz top serves as a stunning focal point and provides additional prep space.
For the appliances, I recommended upgrading to the latest SENZ hood and hob models, enhancing the kitchen’s ventilation and performance. The multi-function designer sink, featuring a flexible hose and glass surface controller, adds versatility, while the stainless steel sink carcass ensures durability and leak prevention.
This project showcases how careful planning and well-executed design can meet both aesthetic and practical needs under a strict timeline. I’m incredibly pleased with the outcome and can’t wait to bring more inspired spaces like this to life!
